Abstract
The rapid growth of big data being generated at ever increasing rates in numerous domains gives rise to the urgent need to make sense of big data. Whilst, traditional data mining and machine learning techniques have been widely used in data-intensive fields, processing big data using these techniques poses a number of challenges. In this talk, I will present a survey of the latest research trends and challenges in data mining and machine learning for big data. I will also highlight potential areas for collaboration.
