To provide an introduction to the appraisal and formulation of e-business strategy and contemporary e-business models.

(LO1) To understand the basics of business strategy;

 

(LO2) To understand the capabilities and therefore business capabilities and therefore business strategies enabled by the Internet;

 

(LO3) To be able to analyse, understand and constructively criticise an existing e-business strategy;

An introduction to strategy and models in a general business sense;

The evolution of business strategy;

Strategic Analysis;

Defining e-Business;

The Bullwhip effect: The Praxis of Technology in Business;

Examples of e-enabled business strategy;

Review of contemporary e-business models;

Capabilities of the internet and the business capabilities thereby enabled;

A methodology for the development of e-business strategy;

An exploration of possible future developments of e-business.
